Approximation Models of Wireless Cellular Networks Using Moment Matching

چکیده
In this paper we present an analytical model for microand pico-cell wireless networks for any arbitrary topology in a high mobility environment. We introduce an approximation technique which uses a single cell decomposition analysis which incorporates moment matching of hand-off processes into the cell. The approximation technique is novel in that it can provide close approximations for non-Poisson arrival traffic and it is easily parallelized. Performance measures such as new calls blocked and hand-off calls lost are presented for any general call arrival distribution in a non-homogeneous traffic environment. We produce some numerical examples for some simple topologies with varying mobility for several call arrival distributions and compare our results to those from simulation studies. Keywords—Pico-cell, wireless networks, moment matching

An Ant-Colony Optimization Clustering Model for Cellular Automata Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks
High efficient routing is an important issue for the design of wireless sensor network (WSN) protocols to meet the severe hardware and resource constraints. This paper presents an inclusive evolutionary reinforcement method. The proposed approach is a combination of Cellular Automata (CA) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) techniques in order to create collision-free trajectories for every agent...

Heavy economic losses and human casualties caused by destructive earthquakes around the world clearly show the need for a systematic approach for large scale damage detection of various types of existing structures. That could provide the proper means for the decision makers for any rehabilitation plans. The aim of this study is to present an innovative method for investigating the seismic vuln...
متن کاملAsymptotic Close to Optimal Resource Allocation in Centralized Multi-band Wireless Networks
This paper concerns sub-channel allocation in multi-user wireless networks with a view to increasing the network throughput. It is assumed there are some sub-channels to be equally divided among active links, such that the total sum rate increases, where it is assumed each link is subject to a maximum transmit power constraint. This problem is found to be a non-convex optimization problem and i...
متن کاملA TESLA-based mutual authentication protocol for GSM networks
The widespread use of wireless cellular networks has made security an ever increasing concern. GSM is the most popular wireless cellular standard, but security is an issue. The most critical weakness in the GSM protocol is the use of one-way entity authentication, i.e., only the mobile station is authenticated by the network. This creates many security problems including vulnerability against m...

Recent years have witnessed an explosion in wireless communications. In the last decades, the development of wireless communication systems and networks is taking us from a world where communications were mostly carried over PSTN, packet-switched and high speed LAN networks to one where the wireless transmission dominates. Nowadays, high data rates carry multimedia communications, real-time ser...
